Beginner: This is the required class for all of our new Salsa students, regardless of their previous dance experience. After you attend this first class, we will place you in the appropriate class level . For new dancers, we will be starting you out on "the right foot ", by introducing proper techniques and the fundamental steps of salsa.
Beginner II: We'll take it a step further! :-) In this class, we will
sharpen your technique and begin to apply it to patterns executed with correct timing. You will also begin to learn proper leading and following.
Intermediate: In this class, you will begin to expand your knowledge of more challanging Salsa patterns, and enhance your styling and techniques to look smoother on the dance floor.
Advanced: Descriptions coming soon
Drill Class: This class is for EVERYONE! No prior dance experience is necessary!
This class is designed to teach you professional dance technique that will help you to dance any dance well and correctly -- from Salsa, to Ballroom, to Latin to Country Western. We will learn critical dance skills such as: Moving from your center (which includes learning to keep your frame, transferring your weight properly, having proper dance posture, and keeping your legs under your body); the proper way to spin (which includes pivoting, spotting and balance); and, finally, styling (learning how to move your hands with your body and body isolations).
Don't miss this opportunity to learn the most important elements needed to become a dancer! Wear comfortable, smooth soled shoes (Dancing shoes, shoes with suede or leather bottoms, ballet shoes, jazz shoes or rubber shoes if they are flat).
Electives: ( electives are not offered every month)
Vary from month to month, and may not require any salsa experience. Past electives have included Cha-Cha, Bachata, Merengue, Ladies and Men’s Styling, and Advance Patterns! No partner required unless specified.
